XRD investigated the morphology, and the Ag NPs structure to determine the crystallinity, FS-SEM to determine the morphologies, EDX to determine the elemental composition and distribution, and UV-visible absorption spectrometer to understand the optical properties. Primarily, the Preparation of Silver NPs was observed by the change in color to dark- grey, and then confirmed by SPR band at 431 nm using aloe vera leaf extract and at 410 nm using Hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract in the analysis of UV-vis spectral. The significant peaks in the XRD pattern exhibited the FCC crystal structure of Ag NPs with particles size of 16.99 nm-26.99 nm from aloe vera leaf extract (and 13.11 nm-29.50 nm from Hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract) are seen in FE-SEM images. As a result, the synthesized Ag NPs using plant extract have a powerful antibacterial activity.https://www.chemmethod.com/article_167006_c2b18558341ead4791a9958849013c6e.pdfSami Publishing CompanyChemical Methodologies2645-77767420230401The Effect of H2SO4 Concentration on Corrosion of Kirkuk’s Oil and Gas Pipelines with Studying Corrosion Reaction Rates Kinetically25726716389910.22034/chemm.2023.376042.1632ENAhmed Hamdi HattabChemistry Department, College of Sciences, University of Kirkuk, Kirkuk, Iraq0000-0002-9407-4996Shakhawan BeebanyChemistry Department, College of Sciences, University of Kirkuk, Kirkuk, Iraq0000-0002-8231-5481Ako Sabir KakiDirectorate of Health, Ministry of Health, Kirkuk, Iraq0000-0002-9407-4996Journal Article20221009Acidic corrosions for oil and natural gas pipelines have been investigated by studying the effect of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) on carbon steel surface sample. Three different concentrations of sulfuric acid (0.1, 1, and 2 M) and two distinct kinds of carbon steel were used in this research. The results demonstrates that when the concentrations of acid medium (H2SO4 solutions) increased, the corrosion rates also increased due to the effect of high concentration of the acid. In addition, kinetic of corrosion rates were studied in which the corrosion rates followed the pseudo first order from the values of R2 for the samples. Furthermore, polymer electrolyte liquid of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) has been used to decrease the acidity strength. The PMMA was indicated that the medium acidity decreased leading to supply further protection from corrosion. These results can be applied to successfully manage pipelines and improve the pipeline protection in acidic corrosion condition. Likewise, polymer electrolyte liquid PMMA oligomer should be considered as a novel form in polymer electrolyte field that might be employed in electrochemical devices for corrosion control purposes in acid media.https://www.chemmethod.com/article_163899_ee0fc13dec6b35e5cb25dcd82ec5e00b.pdfSami Publishing CompanyChemical Methodologies2645-77767420230401Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of New 4-Fromyl Pyrazole Derivatives Drived from Galloyl Hydrazide26727616428310.22034/chemm.2023.366582.1619ENFayyadh Abed NashaanDepartment of Chemistry, College of Education for Pure Science Ibn Al-Haitham, University of Baghdad, IraqMuna Sameer Al-RawiDepartment of Chemistry, College of Education for Pure Science Ibn Al-Haitham, University of Baghdad, Iraq0000-0000-0000-0000Journal Article20221020The new compounds of 3-substituted phenyl-5-(3,4,5-trihydroxyphenyl)-4<em>H</em>-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde [<strong>III</strong>]<strong>a-e</strong> were synthesized by reacting various hydrazones derived from galloyl hydrazide with different substituted aromatic ketones using phosphoryl trichloride in dimethylformamide as a solvent. The degree of sulfonated and molecular weight were determined. An analytical study was evaluated for SPS to determine the efficiency of chelating some ions (Zn, Cu, and Pb). The binding capacity of the sulfonated PS toward metal ions was studied in different pH (2.5, 4.5, and 6.5) under continuous shaking for affixed time of 6 hours at laboratory temperature. Optical properties studied for this polymer and energy gap values culcalet of the polymer. Also, their M-Polynomials are calculated using the partition of the edges. By applying these M-polynomials to porphyrin-cored dendrimers, some important topological indices are computed. Finally, the results are taken from Maple 2022 to see the dependency concerning the involved structural parameters. IbrahimUniversity of Baghdad, College of Science, Department of physics, Baghdad, Iraq0000-0001-9796-9990Journal Article20221025Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles were prepared under different conditions using hydrothermal technique. The effect of reaction time on the size and shape of the nanoparticles was studied. It was evident that with the increase in the reaction time, the size of the granules shrank and the nanotubes were formed in the FESEM image, appeared as cubes and nano-spheres. The ZnO powder had polycrystalline structure with (101) peaks in the diffraction spectrum, as indicated by the X-ray spectra. The UV spectrum showed variation in the band gap due to the different sizes of the nanoparticles. The properties of the zinc oxide for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas were studied as a function of temperature and change in time under the optimal lab conditions. The sensitivity, response time, and recovery time were calculated with operating temperatures. The results showed that the sensitivity had higher increase with raising the operating temperature. The maximum sensitivity of the tested gas sensor at 50 ppm of H2S was about 1098 % at around 200 °C for 1 hour. It was found that the lowest response time was at 100 °C for 1 hour, and the response time was 8 s.https://www.chemmethod.com/article_164845_8d14c1291135619f27f25b577c2eebcc.pdf
